The Valparaiso University women’s soccer team has added another strong class to its program, as head coach John Marovich announced on Thursday that seven high school seniors have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Valpo program as freshmen for the 2019 season.
Valparaiso University senior forward Cory Griffith (Lemont, Ill./Providence Catholic) was named a Missouri Valley Conference First Team Scholar-Athlete today as the conference office released the women’s soccer Scholar-Athlete squads.
Highlighted by the repeat selection of senior forward Cory Griffith (Lemont, Ill./Providence Catholic) to the Missouri Valley Conference First Team, three Valparaiso University women’s soccer players earned MVC postseason recognition on Thursday evening. Senior defender Kelsey Jahn (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) was a Second Team All-MVC pick, while freshman Morgen Metzger (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) earned a spot on the conference’s All-Freshman Team.
The Valparaiso University women’s soccer team put on a show for its home fans in the season finale Thursday afternoon at Brown Field, as Valpo struck for four goals in the final 16 minutes to close out a 5-1 victory in MVC play over Indiana State. Fittingly, all five of Valpo’s goals came from seniors on Thursday.

Monday evening, the Valparaiso University women’s soccer program –in conjunction with Team IMPACT – had the opportunity to welcome a very special new member into the team in a moving signing ceremony, as 16-year-old Lauren Moody signed a Letter of Agreement to officially be drafted into the Valpo program.
